Flash Technique
The Flash Technique is a trauma therapy technique suitable for individuals who feel stuck or flooded when working with trauma, those who avoid thinking about distressing experiences, individuals with complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, or phobias, and anyone wanting a gentle start to trauma therapy. The technique combines elements from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other trauma therapies. It may be utilized during sessions if deemed appropriate.
Flash Technique is a therapeutic method used to lessen the impact of traumatic or distressing memories. Unlike many traditional trauma therapies, this approach is minimally invasive and does not require an individual to confront the traumatic memory consciously. It has been shown to effectively reduce the disturbance caused by intensely painful memories, sometimes in just ten to fifteen minutes. Similar to EMDR, this technique utilizes eye movements or alternating taps to help resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain.
